The first snowfall of the winter season falls on Murree.
Monday was the first snowfall of the 2024 winter season in Murree, which caused the hill station’s temperature to drop.
The hill station recorded temperatures ranging from minus one degree Celsius at the lowest point to eight degrees Celsius at the highest point.
Since the snowfall is expected to cause a spike in tourist traffic, the City Traffic Police has taken extensive steps to avoid traffic jams.
There are about 200 traffic wardens on duty to control the anticipated surge of cars and guarantee efficient traffic flow.
Murree’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, promised that the Inspector General of Police, the Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s directions will be strictly followed.
View Fourth Road, Bank Road, Hall Road, Kuldana Road, and Imtiaz Shaheed Road are among the roads that will be one-way during the snowstorm in order to effectively manage traffic. Furthermore, to alleviate traffic, parking has been prohibited in the vicinity of Habib Bank, General Post Office (GPO) Chowk, Cecil Hotel, and Bank Road to Girls Degree College.
