The Foreign Office advises caution for Pakistanis in Syria.
The spokesperson officially stated that Pakistan is attentively observing developments in Syria. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, underscoring that this principled position remains constant.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed that Pakistani nationals presently in Syria are secure. She observed that Pakistan’s embassy in Syria is fully functional and prepared to offer support and guidance to citizens as required.
A spokesperson emphasized that Damascus International Airport is still blocked, and the embassy is in communication with Pakistani nationals, including pilgrims trapped in Syria.
She stated that upon the airport’s reopening, the embassy will assist in their secure repatriation to Pakistan.
On December 8, Pakistan activated its Crisis Management Unit to assist its people stranded in Syria due to the continued war between rebels and the Syrian government.
The Foreign Office stated, “In light of the current developments and evolving circumstances in Syria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated its Crisis Management Unit to assist Pakistanis in Syria.”
