The government is amenable to discussion in addition to court cases. Malik Musadik

The administration is ready for constructive dialogue, but legal and criminal cases will go forward concurrently with any discussions, stated Federal Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik on Monday.

He stressed that the government is always ready to start a conversation in the best interests of the nation in an interview with a private news channel.

The negotiation agenda would not include criminal proceedings involving the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he clarified.

He responded to the accusations made against the PTI founder by saying, “The 190 million-pound case and the other cases against him are of criminal nature.”

He emphasized that the purpose of conversation is to solve national issues, not to safeguard individual interests.
