The government raises the price of diesel and petrol.
A notice published late on December 31 states that the price of gasoline has increased by 56 paisas per liter. The price of gasoline has been raised to Rs252.66 per liter.
The cost of high-speed fuel has also gone up by Rs2.96 per litre. The price per litre of high-speed diesel has been raised to Rs258.34.
These modifications are a part of the regular gasoline price adjustments that are impacted by both local economic situations and global market trends.
On December 15, the Pakistani government declared new rates for gasoline and diesel.
Details show that the price of petrol stays at Rs. 252.10 per litre. The new price for high-speed diesel is Rs. 255.38 per liter, which is a reduction of Rs. 3.05 per liter.
The price of kerosene oil has also dropped by Rs. 3.32 per liter, and it is now Rs. 161.66 a liter. Additionally, the price of light diesel oil has dropped by Rs. 2.78 per liter, to Rs. 148.95 per liter.
The new prices will take effect at 12 a.m. tonight, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance.
It is important to note that petrol prices have significantly increased over the previous month and a half, jumping by Rs 12.14 per litre, as a result of the government’s unwillingness to lower the petroleum levy.
Sources claim that starting October 16, the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs 12.14 per liter, while the price of gasoline has climbed by Rs 5.07 per liter over the same time frame.
According to insiders, the government could have lowered the charge to stop the price increase, but the limitations of the IMF program made that impossible.
