The greatest danger in the modern world is fake news: Tarar Atta

Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated that the current administration is totally committed to sophisticated and dynamic media that follows contemporary trends.
Speaking at the Saudi Media Forum-2025 in Riyadh, he stated that although Pakistan has the best people resources, it requires more international partners and international cooperation to develop its talent and progress its technology.
In order to strengthen the talent development and capacity building of Pakistan’s local media, Attaullah Tarar emphasized the significance of collaboration between international and local media partners.
Fake information is the greatest threat and problem of the modern period, he said, citing a World Economic Forum research.
He stressed that there should be a global media outlet or organization that includes all nations as members and may have a procedure for verifying information.
This method should make it possible to verify the veracity of material using artificial intelligence and other clever information technology tools, according to Attaullah Tarar.
He said fake information spreads faster than awareness on social issues and we all need to find a solution to this challenge.
