The IHC closes the recovery case for the missing poet.
His wife filed a petition with the IHC on May 15, asking for his recovery and attendance in court, as well as the identification, investigation, and prosecution of those who went missing.
IHC Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani took up the petition.
Justice Kayani asked where Ahmed Farhad had been before being taken into custody at the beginning of the session. According to the extra attorney general, the plea of arbitrary detention ought to be rejected if the kidnaped individual is found.

Ahmed Farhad’s statement under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been recorded, the Additional Attorney General Duggal told the court, and the “kidnapped” person is in judicial custody.
On Farhad’s return, Justice Kayani directed that his statement under Section 164 be recorded in front of the investigating magistrate at the Lohi Bhair police station.
In order to ensure that numerous justices can assess the positions adopted in cases involving missing persons, the IHC judge announced his intention to write to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) about forming a larger bench. Officers on the Criminal Administration Committee are also required to attend before the court, per Justice Kayani’s directive.
