The mayor of Karachi asks that the Green and Red Line projects be completed immediately.

The Pakistan International Development Company Limited (PIDCL) has reportedly been urged by Mayor Karachi to offer a clear completion date for both projects.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) needs to be satisfied that the projects are finished by the timeframes, Murtaza Wahab underlined.

He pointed out that citizens are experiencing severe inconvenience as a result of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) that was given in 2017 not yet being completely implemented.

The mayor expressed grave concern about the delays and cautioned that the projects might not be finished by 2035 if development keeps on its current rate.

Additionally, he urged local leadership to take an active role in guaranteeing that projects are completed on schedule.

Mayor Wahab emphasized previous obstacles, recalling that the Green Line project encountered problems because of Nagin and KDA Chorangi.

He continued by saying that the ongoing Red Line project is causing a lot of issues for the general population on University Road.

The mayor emphasized that the city’s entire condition is being adversely affected by these delays and unresolved difficulties, and he asked for prompt action to address them.

The Red Line project has embarrassed him, according to Mayor Murtaza Wahab, who earlier said, “may Allah help us in completion of this project and bring us out of this state of embarrassment.”

Speaking to the media, the mayor of Karachi stated, “I have been informed that two more years are still required in the completion of this project.”

According to Murtaza Wahab, Sindh’s transport minister is putting a lot of effort into finishing the Red Line Bus Rapid Transport project.

He said that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has formally become the nation’s first municipal government to automate its wage distribution procedure.

The mayor announced that legal action will be taken against the 101 individuals who were detected receiving double pay.
