The nation commemorates the tenth anniversary of the APS martyrs.

Today is the tenth anniversary of the horrific terror attack at Army Public School Peshawar, and it is a time to honour the martyrs.

More than 140 people, including students and teachers, were killed in the brutal incident on December 16, 2014, when extremists targeted APS.

To honour the sacrifices made by defenceless children, a number of events and activities will take place all around the nation.

Both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have stated their unwavering commitment to fighting terrorism till it is eradicated from Pakistan.

According to the President’s remarks on the tenth anniversary of the Army Public School tragedy in Peshawar, the day of December 16 left an indelible mark on the nation’s collective memory when terrorists brutally murdered our children.

This day serves as a reminder of the nation’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, Asif Ali Zardari said, expressing his sorrow to the heirs of the innocent children.

He claimed that events such as the APS tragedy reveal the true nature of terrorists, and that the Khawarij and the Pakistani people will not allow them to carry out their evil plans.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed in his speech his commitment to building a safe and secure Pakistan where no one is subjected to violence and all of the criminals receive honourable punishment for their crimes.

He declared that, like a wall of hardened steel, the entire country is and will continue to stand against cowardly terrorists.

The fitna of Khawarij and anti-state elements are unrelated to religion or social values, he reminded the country.
