The Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) reports a decline of 3.11 percent in motorcycle sales for the fiscal year 2023.
According to the study, the total number of units sold decreased from 1.19 million in the previous fiscal year to 1.15 million.
In June 2024, there was a sales rise of 8.38 percent compared to the previous year. Although there was a monthly improvement, there was also a large decrease of 24.34 percent compared to the previous month, indicating the unpredictable character of the market.
This signifies the third successive fiscal year of diminishing sales, with numbers plummeting to nearly the lowest point in a decade in FY24.
In FY24, the overall production of motorcycles and three-wheelers amounted to 1.15 million units, reflecting a decline of almost 3% compared to FY23. This fall in production aligns with the sales numbers. In June 2024, the output reached a total of 87,844 units, indicating a growth of 9.94% compared to June 2023. However, there was a significant decline of 27.14% compared to May 2024.
According to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), a total of 941,406 motorbikes and three-wheelers were sold from July to April in the years 2023–24. This is a slight decrease compared to the sale of 1,006,839 units during the same period in the previous year (2022–23).
