The Pakistani passport is ranked 103rd globally.

Holders of Pakistani passports were able to enter 34 countries without a visa in 2024. In 2025, though, this figure has dropped to 33. The decrease, even though it is modest, shows that Pakistan’s travel passport has lost value over time.

The Pakistani passport’s declining value is due to a number of factors:

Saudi officials used fictitious credentials to seize 12,000 Afghan citizens’ Pakistani passports in 2023.

Pakistani officials have been accused of providing phony citizenship cards, especially to Afghans and other illegal immigrants.

Numerous occurrences have been caused by Pakistan’s political unrest, including the cancellation of 23 passports belonging to people who were involved in an attack on the country’s former Chief Justice in London.

Pakistan severely damaged the credibility of its travel document in 2025 when it cancelled the passports of 4,700 of its citizens who were detained in the United Arab Emirates.

Singapore continues to lead the Henley Passport Index for 2025, allowing its citizens to enter 195 countries without a visa, while Pakistan faces difficulties.

With access to 193 nations, Japan comes in second place.
With visa-free travel to 192 locations, South Korea and European countries are tied for third place.

The ongoing drop in Pakistan’s passport ranking highlights the necessity of security, governance, and diplomatic reforms to rebuild trust in its travel credentials. Future worldwide recognition may be enhanced by increased international cooperation and initiatives to prevent document abuse.
