The PPP is an ally, not a government backer: Hasan Murtaza

Syed Hasan Murtaza, general secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab, said that backing the PML-N had hurt the PPP, highlighting that the party was a government associate rather than a supporter.

In an interview with Sheikhupura’s media, Hasan Murtaza explained that the PPP’s choice to back the PML-N was made to preserve the state, not for political reasons.

He stated that he was not certain that the government-PTI talks would be successful and that their sole goal was to save a single person. He added that Punjab would see a powerful PPP resurgence.
