The president of AJK meets with a congressman and calls on the US to settle the Kashmir problem.

According to a press release, “Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, the visiting president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, met with U.S. Congressman Tom Souzzi on Sunday and called for the United States to play a mediatory role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.”
There won’t be any peace on the subcontinent until the long-running conflict is settled, the president of AJK told Congressman Souzzi, who also serves as the chairman of the Pakistan Caucus in Congress.
He asserted that Kashmir is the key to achieving peace in South Asia, citing the fact that both India and Pakistan possess nuclear weapons and that any mishap between them might have global repercussions, according to the press release.
The president of Azad Kashmir urged the international community, especially the United States, to take a role in resolving the Kashmir problem, pointing out that former President Bill Clinton had referred to Kashmir as the most hazardous territory in the world.
Congressman Souzzi welcomed President Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry’s invitation to visit Azad Kashmir during the meeting, according to the statement.
