The price of gold is still rising in Pakistan.
Ten grams of 24 carat gold cost Rs. 2,143 more than 10 grams of 22 carat gold, which now costs Rs. 192,544 instead of Rs. 190,580, according to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.
Silver prices per tola and per ten grams stayed unchanged at Rs. 2,650 and Rs. 2,271.94, respectively.
According to the association, the price of gold went up $21 to $2,343 on the international market from $2,322.
The price of gold surged in Pakistan yesterday, reaching Rs242,500 on the local market, according to the tola pricing.
Repayment of external debt resulted in a US$ 74 million decline in Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to US$ 7,981.2 million during the week that concluded on April 19.
The country’s total liquid foreign reserves as of April 19, 2024, according to a spokesman for the central bank, were US$ 13,280.5 million. Following a US$ 74 million decline, the State Bank of Pakistan’s foreign reserves were valued at US$ 7,981.2 million.
Commercial banks in Pakistan have reserves of US$5,299.3 million.
