The Prime Minister visits the Independence Monument in Tashkent.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif made a formal visit to the renowned Independence Monument during his official tour to Uzbekistan.
The visit highlights the historical and cultural connections between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, while underlining the dedication to enhancing bilateral relations, stated the PM Office Media Wing in a news statement.
Prime Minister Sharif placed a flower wreath at the monument, emblematic of Uzbekistan’s profound history and sovereignty.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Prime Minister expressed his admiration for Uzbekistan’s progress and resilience, drawing parallels with Pakistan’s own struggle for independence and development.
He said the Independence Monument stands as a testament to the courage and determination of the Uzbek people. Pakistan and Uzbekistan possess a mutual vision for peace, prosperity, and regional connectivity; our visit underscores our shared ideals and the necessity for collaborative efforts towards a more promising future.
The Prime Minister was informed about the 3000-year history of the Uzbek country and its heroes.
The visit to the monument will precede high-level discussions with Uzbek officials, concentrating on the augmentation of trade, energy collaboration, and cultural exchanges.
