The PTI party responds to Nawaz Sharif’s appointment as the president of the PML-N.
The PTI spokesperson urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan to acknowledge and address the issue of Nawaz Sharif’s uncontested election as the president of PML-N.
“The party demanded that the ECP address the matter using the same principles it applied during the PTI’s intra-party elections,” the party stated. According to the PTI, Nawaz Sharif was elected without any opposition by his loyal supporters.
The election of Nawaz Sharif has posed a challenge to the Chief Justice and Chief Election Commissioner. The PTI stated that the entire nation is observing the failure of individuals occupying positions of authority in dispensing justice.
Nawaz Sharif has been elected as the president of the PML-N without any opposition.
Earlier today, Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, was elected unopposed as the president of the PML-N.
Sharif was stripped of the presidency of the PML-N six years ago as a result of a Supreme Court ruling in the Panama Papers case.
The party, led by Rana Sanaullah, has a five-member electoral commission. The elections were overseen by Iqbal Jhagra, Ishrat Ashraf, Jamal Shah Kakar, and Khealdas Kohistani.
Nawaz Sharif did not receive any nomination papers from any candidate.
