The Ring Road will change twin cities’ way of life.

More than 70% of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project has been finished, according to the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), which is the project’s executing agency.

Along both sides of the corridor, the project aims to create corporate centers, industrial zones, transportation terminals, wholesale markets, recreational parks, residential communities, a dry port, a health city, and centers for education and logistics. Director General Kinza Murtaza recently presided over a special meeting on the Ring Road Economic Zones at the RDA. She emphasized in her speech the project’s revolutionary potential, pointing out that it will not only reduce traffic in Islamabad and Rawalpindi but also give locals a safer, healthier, and cleaner environment.

She assured attendees that work will be finished quickly and noted that the project would boost the local economy, generate new job opportunities, and improve municipal amenities.

Professor Dr. Shahid Mahmood, OIC Senior Adviser, praised the project as a long-overdue requirement for the twin cities, pointing out that it will spur growth, especially in Rawalpindi’s south-western expansion zones.

In order to permanently stop unlawful encroachments, he suggested that the creation of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) be combined with contemporary urban design, the implementation of green building regulations, and urban revitalization initiatives.

He added that the RDA will keep helping the business community and promoting private sector participation, emphasizing that the only way to deal with Pakistan’s economic problems was to boost exports and private investment.

He promised that all facilities would be available to investors in the Ring Road Economic Zones.

The main goal of the Ring Road project, according to former ambassador Naghmana Hashmi, was to improve transportation efficiency and fortify economic relations between the twin cities. Senior officials, including the Chief Planner, Director MP&TE, Director Building Control, Director Engineering, and Additional Director General RDA Mansoor Ahmed Khan, attended the meeting.
