The US calls Pakistan a long-term ally. There have also been conflicting spots: State Dept.

Pakistan has been a long-standing partner of the United States, while it acknowledges that there have also been areas of disagreement.

In response to a query regarding US sanctions against commercial firms due to claims of linkages to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller made these statements at his routine news briefing.

Pakistan views this US action as prejudiced and politically motivated, according to the Pakistani Foreign Office.

The Pakistani official claimed that previous instances of comparable listings of commercial entities involved products that were not included in any export control regime but were nevertheless deemed sensitive under catch-all, wide terms, and were solely based on suspicion.

Although Miller acknowledged that there have been areas of disagreement, Pakistan has traditionally been an ally of the United States.
