This monsoon, over 1,000 people have died in flood-affected areas: NDMA

During this monsoon, up to 1,006 persons have died in flood-affected areas nationwide, including 275 children, 568 men, and 163 women.

At least 304 people have perished in Punjab, including 110 children, 143 males, and 51 women, according to the most recent statistics released by the NDMA.

There have been 504 fatalities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 338 males, 76 women, and 90 children.

There have been 80 recorded deaths in Sindh, including 10 women, 35 men, and 35 children.

Most of the country has been devastated by flash floods and heavy rains, and Balochistan has reported 30 fatalities, including 20 children, 6 adults, and 4 women.

There were 41 fatalities in Gilgit-Baltistan, including 26 men, 9 women, and 6 children. 38 people, including 9 children, 17 men, and 12 women, were killed in Azad Jammu & Kashmir as a result of the floods.

Meanwhile, nine people—three men, one woman, and five children—were killed in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

1,063 persons have been injured in flood-related incidents, including 292 women, 450 men, and 321 children.

With 661 people injured—200 children, 258 males, and 203 women—Punjab recorded the highest number of injuries, underscoring the serious effects on the province’s most vulnerable groups.

218 persons were injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 49 women, 99 men, and 70 children.

Sindh, meantime, reported 87 injuries, including 29 men, 19 women, and 39 children, illustrating the floods’ pervasive effects across all age and gender groups.

Two toddlers, two adults, and one women were among the five people injured, according to Balochistan.

52 people, including four children, 42 men, and six women, were hurt in Gilgit-Baltistan, indicating the floods’ extensive human cost in both areas.

While the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) reported three injuries, involving two children and one woman, with no male injuries reported, Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported 37 injuries, including four children, twenty males, and thirteen women.
