Three “TTP operatives” arrested by CTD for killing a Karachi police officer
three alleged terrorists from the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) connected to the murder of a police officer have been apprehended following a tip-off.
It is stated that three suspects—Farhad, Haji Rehman, and Sagheer—were taken into custody during a raid in Sohrab Goth by the CTD investigation team.
From their possession, the officers seized three handguns and other organizational materials.
Chaudhry Safdar, the DSP for CTD Investigation, verified that the TTP had taken credit for the attacking the police. The TTP’s Maulana Bashir faction is connected to the detained individuals.
The TTP recently assigned the suspects to carry out attacks on police officers, they disclosed during questioning.
While the investigation is still ongoing and major new discoveries are anticipated, the recovered firearms are being sent for forensic analysis.
A police checkpoint near Jamali Pull in Sohrab Goth was attacked by unidentified assailants on June 3, 2024. This incident warrants attention.
To ensure the safety of the public traveling to the cattle market, police officers had been stationed there. Officer Salman Abbas was hurt during the incident, and Officer Yasin became a martyr.
The TTP was being funded by two terrorists who were detained earlier in July in Karachi by the Counter Terrorism Department’s (CTD) anti-terrorism financing unit.
Two militants connected to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction were apprehended by the CTD during an operation in Karachi’s Janjal Goth neighborhood.
The accused were using social media to communicate with TTP leaders in Afghanistan and were gathering money for the outlawed group, according to DIG CTD Asif Ijaz.
