To prevent smog, Punjab requires vehicle fitness certificates.
The Punjab government has made fitness certificates mandatory for all public and private vehicles in the province, a clear attempt to reduce the increasing levels of smog. Vehicle emissions are a major source of air pollution in the area, and this solution attempts to reduce them.
In order to ensure strict adherence to the new legislation, the Provincial Environment Protection Department (EPD) has issued orders to all pertinent authorities, including commissioners and secretaries of provincial ministries. The program demonstrates how dedicated the government is to resolving Punjab’s deteriorating environmental crisis in recent years.
The provincial government has established a deadline for car inspections in order to ease this transition; all vehicles must receive a fitness certificate by the 30th of the next month. Owners of vehicles are encouraged to finish inspections as soon as possible in order to avoid fines and support the larger initiative to enhance air quality.
Following a direction from the PTI, Shibli Faraz leaves the Judicial Commission.
The province-wide promotion of sustainable practices and the fight against environmental degradation are the goals of this effort. To guarantee compliance, authorities will carry out stringent inspections with the goal of lowering emissions and improving public health.
