Today, Deputy PM Dar will travel to Iran to attend an ECO conference.

In addition to reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO charter, the Deputy Prime Minister will discuss the possibility of increased regional connectivity through the expansion of rail and road networks, the relaxation of visa requirements, and the streamlining of border processes.

Ishaq Dar will restate Pakistan’s worries that the peace and security of the area are in jeopardy due to the Syrian conflict in the Middle East. He is going to sign the ECO Clean Energy Center Charter.

In addition, on the margins of the ministerial meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with participating ministers and guests.

Iran indicated interest in increasing imports earlier this year, as Pakistan imports rice, pork, and other agricultural goods.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also emphasized that the administration would put the interests of the country first and discourage outside intervention in the Iran-Pakistan gas project.

In response to a question about the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, the deputy prime minister stated that Pakistan, as an independent nation, would make choices that would benefit the country and would not permit intrusion into its international commitments.

The significance of collaboration in the energy sector, encompassing electricity commerce, power transmission lines, and the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project, was emphasized by both nations during the visit.
