Transport fares were reduced following a decline in petrol costs.
During a news conference in Lahore, Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced that the fare reduction varies from 20 to 190 rupees, with the most significant decrease being on the Lahore – Karachi route.
She stated that the fare from Lahore to Karachi has decreased by 190 rupees, the fare from Lahore to Peshawar has been dropped by 50 rupees, and the fare to Rawalpindi has been lowered by 20 rupees.

This marks the seventh straight reduction in transit fees attributed to declining petrol costs, with the government encouraging other provinces to emulate this action and offer relief to customers, the minister stated.

According to the statement, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 2.7 per litre, resulting in a new price of Rs 247.03 per litre.
High-speed diesel had a decrease of Rs 3.40 per litre, and light diesel was reduced by Rs 1.30 per litre. The price of kerosene oil has been decreased by Rs 3.57 per litre.
