By Wednesday, the candidates may withdraw their nomination documents.
On the second of next month, ballots will be cast for 48 open upper house seats.
Members of the National Assembly will choose senators for one general seat and one seat reserved for technocrats, such as Ulama, in the nation’s capital.
Each of the four provincial assemblies’ members will choose two senators for women, two senators for technocrats—including ulema—and seven senators for general seats.
The provinces of Sindh and Punjab will each elect one senator representing non-Muslims.
