Turkiye demands that the Kashmir problem be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan demanded that the long-running conflict in Kashmir be settled in line with UN resolutions that demand the Kashmiri people exercise their right to self-determination. In a speech to the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, he emphasized that maintaining peace and stability in South Asia was of the utmost importance and stated that the issue of Kashmir should be settled through dialogue for the benefit of our brothers and sisters in the region in accordance with UN resolutions. In reference to the four-day conflict, Erdogan stated, “We are pleased with the ceasefire achieved following the tensions between Pakistan and India last April, the tension which had escalated into a conflict.”
