US pays attention to Pakistan’s management of $400 million in flood relief following Bilawal’s accusations

A $400 million loan and assistance for flood victims, purportedly earmarked for the federal government’s own use, were believed to have been obtained by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Under the pretense that the funds will be used for projects, the PPP head revealed that the federal government has kept the $400 million it had received from the World Bank and is giving him rupees in exchange.

The cash should go to the flood victims, he demanded, criticizing the federal government for not building even one dwelling in many years.

In a press briefing, State Department spokeswoman Mathew Miller stated, “We take this matter very seriously, not just in Pakistan but wherever American taxpayer dollars are used and where urgent humanitarian interests are at stake.”

Miller emphasized the employment of strict monitoring and evaluation procedures by the State Department and USAID when granting aid, and that they stop giving aid when it is shown to be misdirected or misused.

Miller answered a question concerning Secretary Blinken’s meeting with his Indian counterpart Jaishankar, stating that they talked about their unwavering commitment to forging closer bilateral ties, closely coordinating on regional and global challenges, and advancing cooperation on critical and emerging technologies.

When questioned if human rights violations and religious freedom were mentioned with the Indian Minister, he responded, “I won’t divulge all the details of those conversations, but we frequently raise human rights issues in our discussions with governments worldwide.”
