Winter breaks extended for schools
The winter vacation in schools throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has been prolonged due to the prevailing severe cold weather conditions in the area.
The Education Department of AJK released a letter on Tuesday, announcing that educational institutions will stay closed until January 4, 2025, with schools now set to return on February 6, instead of the originally announced date of February 2.
The extension pertains to both public and private educational establishments across the region. The decision was made due to the persistent cold spell affecting the area, which has posed difficulties for both students and educators in traveling to schools.
The agency attributed the delay to weather circumstances, prioritizing the safety and comfort of the pupils.
The Sindh Education Department has declared the recommencement of school following the winter recess. The educational institutions of Sindh, encompassing both public and private schools, will resume operations today, January 1, 2025, according to the established timeline.
