With 90 PTI-supported individuals, SIC becomes biggest party in KP
With the addition of multiple independent members, the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has become the largest party in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
Following the general elections, the Sunni Ittehad Council experienced a significant infusion of independent members into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. It has established itself as the dominating force in the House with an astounding ninety independent lawmakers joining the party.
In this manner, it is anticipated to easily win 21 of the 26 seats set aside for women. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the party will also secure the four seats that have been set aside for minorities.
In the meantime, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) now has eight members in the provincial parliament after adding three independents to its membership. The PML-N is able to secure two seats designated for women because to this rise in numbers.
Likewise, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) will have two female representatives, for a total of seven seats in the KP Assembly. With four members, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is predicted to win one seat for women.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s power dynamics have changed as a result of this political realignment, with the Sunni Ittehad Council emerging as a potent force. The party’s representation and influence have been greatly enhanced by the addition of independent members, paving the way for prospective legislative efforts and policy changes in the province.
