With rates rising by Rs5,800 per tola, gold prices reach a historic high.

Gold prices are still rising, and today they hit a record high following yet another gain.

The price of gold per ounce jumped $58 to a new all-time high of $4,198 on Wednesday in the global bullion market.

In line with the worldwide pattern, 24-karat gold prices surged significantly in local markets as well, rising by Rs5,800 per tola to a record Rs440,900.

In a same vein, the local price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs4,972 to reach a record high of Rs378,000.
