The Foreign Office cautions that India’s unilateral actions threaten regional stability.

The Foreign Office (FO) stated on Friday that Pakistan would respond decisively to any Indian action obstructing river water flow.

“Halting the flow of water will be regarded as an act of war,” stated FO spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan during a weekly news briefing on Friday.

The National Security Committee (NSC) meeting announced a series of actions in reaction to India’s aggressive posturing following the Pahalgam massacre. He stated that India’s stance constituted a threat to regional peace.

He stated that the breach of the Indus Water Treaty exemplified India’s negligent disposition. “India’s unilateral revocation of the agreement substantiates the two-nation theory,” he stated.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Pakistan’s armed forces are on high alert and adequately equipped to address any provocations.
He stated that the Wagah Border had been closed and that Indian flights could no longer utilise Pakistan’s airspace.

The visas of Indians under the SAARC scheme have been revoked; however, Indian Sikh pilgrims have been granted an exemption and may still enter Pakistan.

He stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Turkiye was fruitful, and that the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE visited Pakistan, with both parties committing to collaborative projects for mutual benefit.

Pakistan responds to India for engaging in propaganda following the horrific Pahalgam massacre.

Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar conducted a productive visit to Afghanistan.

COMMUNIQUE OF THE NSC MEETING

On Thursday, the National Security Committee (NSC) adopted a series of actions in response to India’s aggression following the April 22 tragedy in Pahalgam (occupied Jammu and Kashmir).

A communiqué released following the NSC meeting indicates that the nation’s top command has resolved to close the Wagah Border immediately. Pakistan asserts its right to suspend all bilateral agreements, including the Simla Pact (agreed in 1972).

Pakistan has also resolved to close its airspace to India. Additionally, Pakistan revoked its trading links with India.

The NSC has resolved to annul all visas granted to Indian nationals under the SAARC system.

Pakistan designated the Indian defence, naval, and air advisers in Islamabad as persona non grata. They were instructed to depart Pakistan without delay, but no later than April 30. The statement states that the support personnel of these consultants has also been instructed to return to India.

The statement states, “The revocation of the Indus Water Treaty is regarded as an act of aggression,” and also conveys condolences for the casualties resulting from a terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region of India-occupied Kashmir.

What transpired in Pahalgam?

Twenty-seven individuals were fatalities and 17 sustained injuries after alleged militants discharged firearms at tourists in Pahalgam, located in India’s Jammu and Kashmir region. This is reported to be the most severe attack of its kind in the country in almost twenty years.

The horrific occurrence prompted a blame game between Pakistan and India.

Subsequent to a cabinet meeting presided over by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, India declared the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, the closing of the Attari check post, and additional actions.
