Amid tensions between India and Pakistan, Lahore airspace was once again partially restricted.

Parts of Lahore’s airspace are once again closed to commercial aviation operations due to a fresh Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

The NOTAM reports that a number of aviation routes, including J-186, J-165, and J-139, have been blocked from flight operations within Lahore’s airspace. According to the Airports Authority, these airspace closures in Lahore will last for 24 hours for “operational reasons.”

The message also made it clear that Islamabad Airport’s air operations have been completely resumed. However, only after receiving help from Air Traffic Control (ATC) would approaching aircraft be allowed to land in Islamabad.

In reaction to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, this development is a component of larger security measures.
