Condolences for five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims in a bus disaster are flooding in.

On their journey back from the ancient site of Badr to Medina, five pilgrims from Pakistan who were performing the Umrah died in an accident involving the bus they were riding in.

Reports said several pilgrims from Bahawalnagar were travelling to Medina when their bus crashed as a result of which five of the travellers – Rukhsana Bibi and Amina Bibi from 228/9-R, Fort Abbas, two women from Dahranwala, and an elderly man, Manzoor Hussain, from 39/3-R – died on the spot.

Numerous more people were hurt in the collision and sent to Medina hospitals to receive care.

Three injured people were admitted to King Fahd Hospital, while four others are receiving treatment at the Saudi-German Hospital, according to a news report. King Salman Hospital is treating a woman.

Five Pakistanis lost their lives in a bus accident in Saudi Arabia on Monday, and the PPP expressed its condolences.

In a post on X, PPP Secretary General Humayun Khan expressed his condolences for the incident and described the deaths as “extremely regrettable.”

“The sorrow of the impacted families is shared equally by [the] Pakistan People’s Party,” he added. “I demand that the government provide the impacted families with full support.”

Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq lamented the terrible loss and prayed for the deceased’s souls as well as the quick healing of those hurt.

He gave the Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia instructions to help the injured and fully support the relatives of the victims.
