IRSA expands Punjab’s and Sindh’s water supply

The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has expanded water supplies to Punjab and Sindh as reservoir levels have improved in response to recent rainfall around the nation.

Punjab’s water share has increased by 23,800 cusecs to 64,800 cusecs, an IRSA spokeswoman said.

Additionally, Sindh’s allotment has been increased by 10,000 cusecs, bringing it to 45,000 cusecs.

According to the official, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was receiving 1,900 cusecs, while Balochistan was receiving 500 cusecs.

An improvement in water availability is indicated by the predicted water shortfall for the Kharif season, which dropped from 43% to 27%.
