Rapist of a 7-year-old girl fatally shot during police operation in Rawalpindi

A notable advancement has occurred in the case of a seven-year-old girl who was brutally abducted and murdered on Easter Day, when the primary suspect was fatally shot during a police operation.

The police reported that the suspect, recognized as the girl’s maternal uncle, was apprehended in the Mandra area late last night by a specialized police unit.

He was allegedly recognized for having a history of substance abuse. Subsequent to his apprehension, the suspect was transported to Mureed Phatak for the retrieval of the alleged murder weapon. During the operation, unidentified assailants discharged firearms at the police unit.

During the subsequent gunshot engagement, the suspect was injured and died prior to arriving at the hospital. His body was later shifted to THQ Hospital, Gujar Khan. Authorities have initiated a search operation to capture the individuals who assaulted the police squad.

The girl’s body was found in a house under construction within a 5-marla housing development on the night between Sunday and Monday. A case was filed based on the complaint of the victim’s father.

Investigations are ongoing, and police officials have vowed to bring all those involved to justice.
