The price of gold rose $69 per ounce globally, hitting a record 3,395 dollars.
The price of gold increased by Rs8,100 per tola and Rs6944 per 10 grams in response, causing a dramatic spike in domestic markets.
Gold is currently trading at a new historical high of Rs357,800 per tola and Rs306,755 per 10 gramme on local markets as a result of the hike.
