The first environmental drone surveillance is launched in Pakistan.

Punjab has seen the installation of Pakistan’s first environmental drone surveillance system. The Environment Department is leading the effort, which attempts to track and target industries that pollute the air and environment.
The agency has set up a specialized aerial surveillance business with cutting-edge drones that use thermal technologies. These drones are actively monitoring industrial pollution and have already been put into action.
Officials claim that three illegal pyrolysis plants operating in the Mehmood Booti neighborhood of Lahore were recently discovered by drone monitoring. During the operation, hundreds of carbon-filled sacks were recovered, and four other industries were discovered to be damaging the environment.
Concerned personnel have been asked to provide explanations for the environmental infractions, and the aerial surveillance firm has prepared an official report.
With this initiative, environmental monitoring enters a new age, said Environment Director General Imran Hamid Sheikh.
“Drone surveillance will be used to e-map all industries and brick kilns, and drone footage will also be used to assess the performance of environmental officers,” he said.
According to the department, new technology will assist close monitoring gaps, capture polluters in the act, and increase accountability in general.
