Cement prices in Pakistan experience a substantial increase.

For the week concluding April 17, 2025, northern Pakistan reported an average cement price of Rs 1,425 per bag, indicating a 0.95% rise from the preceding week’s price of Rs 1,411. Conversely, southern regions exhibited a slight decline of 0.20%, reducing prices from Rs 1,387 to Rs 1,384.
Lahore has the highest cement costs in the country, priced at Rs 1,497 per bag. Bahawalpur is priced at Rs 1,470, whereas both Gujranwala and Sialkot are priced at Rs 1,440.
Other significant northern cities exhibited diverse pricing: Islamabad (Rs 1,387), Rawalpindi (Rs 1,379), Faisalabad (Rs 1,430), Sargodha (Rs 1,400), Multan (Rs 1,429), and both Peshawar and Bannu at Rs 1,400 a bag.
Sukkur and Quetta in southern Pakistan recorded the highest regional pricing at Rs 1,450 per bag, with Larkana following at Rs 1,416. Hyderabad and Khuzdar both reported rates of Rs 1,337, whilst Karachi presented the most competitive rate nationally at Rs 1,313 per bag.
Industry observers ascribe these geographical discrepancies to differing transportation costs, local market dynamics, and operating expenses encountered by cement plants across various regions of the country.
The variable cement prices remain a crucial indication for Pakistan’s construction and real estate sectors, affecting ongoing infrastructure projects and residential development activity nationwide.
Market analysts predict that these pricing patterns would likely affect construction budgets and project schedules during the second quarter of 2025, especially for government infrastructure projects and private sector developments.
