The superintendent informs IHC that Bushra Bibi has been granted special amenities at Adiala Jail.
In response to a plea for better prison amenities for Bushra Bibi, the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, the Adiala Jail Superintendent on Tuesday presented a report to the Islamabad High Court outlining the facilities offered to her.
Usman Gul and Zaheer Abbas Advocate, who led Bushra Bibi’s legal team, appeared before the court during the hearing, which was presided over by Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas. The official report was provided by the Advocate General’s Office, and the court directed that the petitioner’s attorney review it.
Bushra Bibi is reportedly receiving twice-daily medical examinations while being held in a separate, roomy detention cell.
In order to combat the summer heat, a room cooler has been added in addition to the mattress, chair, table, bookshelf, lighting, and fan.
Other facilities include meals that have been approved by a medical officer, a separate kitchen area for cooking, and access to an LCD television.
The hearing has been postponed, and Bushra Bibi’s attorney has been directed to review the report and provide their position at the upcoming hearing.
