Speaker of the National Assembly praises PM and CCI for reaching a consensus on the canal issue.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the National Assembly, has praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the provincial chief ministers for their leadership in achieving national consensus and expressed satisfaction with the Council of Common Interests’ (CCI) decisions on canal projects and other interprovincial issues.

The Speaker added that Pakistan’s political and national leadership has always put the interests of the country first and that the unanimous choices from the CCI platform would further strengthen the federation. He praised the maturity shown by all parties and emphasized that communication was the best way to move forward.

“I hope the ongoing protests regarding canal projects will now come to an end,” he remarked, referring to recent demonstrations by lawyers and activists in Sindh.

“The CCI has sent a powerful message of unity to adversaries,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq added, adding that any aggression by India will be faced with strong national resolve. “The entire nation stands as a solid wall in defense of our homeland,” said the president.

He cited the recent Pahalgam incident as evidence that India’s unfounded charges have been revealed and that New Delhi has not yet replied to Pakistan’s offer of cooperation. “Now more than ever, we need national unity, harmony, and solidarity,” he continued.

In closing, the Speaker praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his unwavering efforts to reach an agreement on all important matters.
