A SAR 20,000 punishment for performing the Hajj without permission: Saudi Arabia sends a severe warning

Ahead of this year’s Hajj, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has set severe penalties and hefty fines for infractions.
A punishment of up to 20,000 Saudi Riyals might be imposed on anyone who attempts to do the Hajj without official authorization, the government said.
A fine of up to 20,000 Riyals will also be imposed on visitors who enter the holy sites during the Hajj using a visitation visa. Those who give these people transportation or any other kind of help risk fines of up to 100,000 Riyals.
Those who provide lodging to unapproved pilgrims face the same penalty.
The ministry added that those who violate the law and those who assist them will be deported and prohibited from entering Saudi Arabia for a maximum of ten years.
From the first day of Dhul Qadah to the fourteenth day of Dhul Hijjah, these penalties will be in effect.
