Anti-Pakistan campaign: PTA targets Indian accounts and bots

As tensions between the two nations rise, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has begun a thorough crackdown on Indian bots and phoney social media accounts that are actively promoting anti-Pakistan campaigns.

Sources claim that Pakistani regulatory agencies have found dozens of dubious social media profiles that disseminate propaganda against Pakistan. To combat these aggressive actions, the PTA has instituted 24-hour social media platform surveillance.

According to a PTA official, “46 suspicious URLs have been reported to relevant social media platforms for blocking so far.” The authorities stressed that combating bots and phoney social media profiles with Indian support is a continuous operation that calls for unwavering attention to detail.

All pertinent Pakistani institutions, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, have been mobilised to counter this concerted disinformation campaign, according to PTA sources. Authorities promised that any account discovered to be engaged in anti-Pakistan activities would be reported right away to the relevant platform so that the proper action could be taken.

In response to enquiries regarding the particular accounts featured in these URLs, officials clarified that they had targeted a large number of profiles that were obviously a part of a coordinated attempt to disseminate false information about Pakistan in the wake of recent diplomatic tensions between the neighbouring nations.

The PTA has asked people to be on the lookout for false information and to report any questionable content to the appropriate authorities.
