Bilal bin Saqib designated as the Prime Minister’s advisor on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has designated Bilal bin Saqib as his Special Assistant on Crypto and Blockchain, as per an official notification released by the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.
Bilal bin Saqib will assume a role with a standing comparable to that of a Minister of State.
In addition to this position, he presently holds the title of Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Crypto Council, an organization committed to promoting cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in Pakistan.
Mr. Saqib’s nomination signifies the inaugural establishment of a specialized position for cryptocurrency and blockchain at the federal level.
In recent years, he has vigorously advocated for the incorporation of blockchain technology in governance and finance, urging the establishment of a more defined legal framework to safeguard consumer protection and bolster investor trust.
