The ZilHaj moon was not observed; Eid-ul-Adha 2025 will occur on June 7 in Pakistan.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee said on Tuesday that the moon of ZilHaj 1446 AH was not observed in Pakistan, indicating that Eid-ul-Adha 2025 will occur on June 7 in the country.
The committee convened in Islamabad to observe the ZilHaj moon. The meeting was presided over by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, with attendance from members of the national and zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees, alongside officials from Suparco, the Meteorological Department, and other pertinent organisations.
Subsequently, during a news conference, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad declared the committee’s resolution that the ZilHajj moon was not observed anywhere in the nation. Consequently, he declared that Eidul Adha will be observed in Pakistan on Saturday, June 7.
Moon-sighting specialists from Suparco have already suggested that the likelihood of observing the crescent this evening is “virtually nonexistent,” referencing astronomical data. At sunset today, the moon was anticipated to be merely 11 hours old, rendering its visibility exceedingly improbable.
A concurrent meeting of the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee took place in the Auqaf House in Lahore, chaired by Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi. The event featured contributions from Meteorology Director Abdul Aziz, Mufti Karim, Maulana Mukhtar Ahmed Nadeem, and additional religious scholars.
Mufti Sialvi informed the media post-meeting that the designated time for moon sighting in Lahore has elapsed without any verifiable evidence of the moon’s visibility.
“The designated time for moon sighting has lapsed, and no credible reports of moon visibility were obtained during that interval,” stated Mufti Sialvi. The chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, will make the definitive declaration concerning the commencement of ZilHaj 1446 AH and Eid-ul-Adha 2025.
The deadline for moon sighting in Lahore is 7:43 PM, whilst in the wider Punjab region it is 7:49 PM.
The zonal committee declared that the moon was not visible in Karachi either. The committee chair, Allama Hafiz Salafi, stated that no evidence had been obtained from Karachi or any region of Sindh. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been notified.
The moon sighting in Karachi occurred at 7:51 PM.
The Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa convened in the Auqaf Hall in Peshawar. The ZilHaj moon was subsequently declared not to have been observed anywhere in the city.
The Met Department states that the moon is around 12 hours old, resulting in a minimal likelihood of its visibility. Moreover, dusty weather conditions in Peshawar are diminishing vision. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will render the final verdict, the Met Department underscored.
Based on scientific evaluations and the low likelihood of moon visibility tonight, Eid-ul-Adha is anticipated to occur on Saturday, June 7, according to preliminary predictions by the Met Office and Ruet-e-Hilal members.
