Pakistan and Azerbaijan pledge to enhance regional stability and mutual prosperity.

LANCHIN-AZERBAIJAN: Pakistan and Azerbaijan have reiterated their commitment to enhancing their strategic alliance by investigating investment opportunities advantageous to both countries.

This commitment was highlighted during a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in Lachin.

The leaders evaluated the full spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the increasing momentum in political, economic, defence, and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that both nations have constantly supported one another in all circumstances and will uphold this solidarity.

The encounter occurred on the day of the Trilateral summit including Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye, coinciding with Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, so imparting a symbolic significance to the dialogue between the two leaders. The Prime Minister sent his congratulations to President Aliyev and the citizens of Azerbaijan on this significant national event.

The prime minister expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its unwavering support during the recent Pakistan-India conflict amid Indian provocation and recognised the public demonstrations of sympathy from both the leadership and the populace of fraternal Azerbaijan.

He stated that the citizens of Azerbaijan commemorated Pakistan’s triumph in Maarka-e-Haq against India.

In the meeting, the two leaders assessed the entirety of bilateral ties and conveyed contentment regarding the positive progression of political, economic, defence, and cultural collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

They reiterated their collective dedication to enhancing the strategic collaboration by investing in mutually advantageous opportunities. The prime minister emphasised that both nations have consistently supported one another and will persist in doing so.

The Azerbaijani side consented to the exchange of delegations concerning advancements in Azerbaijani investments in Pakistan. In this context, delegation-level discussions will be convened imminently.

The prime minister emphasised that convening this conference in Lachin, a place emblematic of Azerbaijan’s resistance and regeneration, holds profound symbolic and emotional importance for both parties.

The discussion ended with both leaders reiterating their dedication to enhancing the Pakistan-Azerbaijan friendship and collaborating closely to promote mutual goals at both bilateral and regional levels.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Ullah Tarrar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi were also present.
