An official informed APP on Wednesday that the incident transpired when a team from the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police executed a raid to apprehend a group of thieves.
The suspects commenced indiscriminate gunfire from multiple directions, eliciting a vigorous response from law enforcement.
He stated that Officer Sudheer Ahmed Abbasi attained martyrdom in the line of duty, while Constable Jaffar Jahangir sustained severe injuries and is receiving treatment at PIMS Hospital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Sahibzada Yousaf, DIG Tariq, and other senior officials visited the hospital late at night to assess the condition of the injured officer and instructed the hospital administration to ensure optimal medical care.
