Junaid Safdar, the son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam, is getting married again.
Nearly 19 months after divorcing his first wife, Ayesha Saif Khan, Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar, has announced his second engagement.
Reliable sources close to the family claim that the Sharif family has organized Junaid Safdar’s engagement. After splitting from Ayesha Saif Khan in October 2023, Junaid’s personal life has entered a new phase.
In a secret ceremony in London in August 2021, Junaid Safdar wed Ayesha Saif Khan, daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, a former close aide to Nawaz Sharif and former head of Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Close friends and relatives attended the wedding, which garnered media interest because it featured prominent families. After more than two years of marriage, the couple did, however, part ways amicably.
Since moving back to Pakistan full-time in late 2023, Junaid Safdar, a Cambridge graduate with two Master’s and two Bachelor’s degrees from prominent UK universities, has been actively supporting his mother’s political endeavors.
According to sources, the new engagement is a reflection of the Sharif family’s ongoing penchant for close-knit ties, which is a custom among Pakistan’s most powerful political families.
Although Junaid’s fiancé’s identity has not yet been made public, insiders have confirmed that she is a member of the Nawaz Sharif family.
