CM Maryam mandates an instant cut in roti prices throughout Punjab.

In keeping with the recent drop in flour prices, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered officials on Thursday to lower roti pricing throughout the province.
The Punjab chief minister, who chaired a high-level meeting on commodity prices, gave the Price Control Department instructions to update roti prices right away and make sure that the general public immediately benefits from lower wheat prices.
“The new price of bread must reflect the reduction in flour prices,” she stated. “I want every household to be able to afford roti.” The people must directly benefit from this price reduction.
Maryam Nawaz pledged to lower bread prices to “the lowest level in history,” emphasizing that food inflation disproportionately impacts the poor and needs to be addressed immediately.
Additionally, the chief minister directed officials to closely monitor the cost of staple foods, especially vegetables, pulses, and poultry.
Concerned about the growing price of poultry, she said, “The poor child used to eat chicken once a week.” I will not put up with this at all since if chicken gets pricey, the poor won’t be able to afford even that.
Officials were also instructed to step up market surveillance and take tough measures against hoarders and profiteers.
The chief minister of Punjab reaffirmed that her government is dedicated to shielding the weaker members of society from the effects of food inflation.
