Metropolis prepares for intense temperatures

Thursday is predicted to be an exceptionally hot day in the megalopolis, with highs of over 41 degrees Celsius.

The city experienced extreme heat and humidity on Wednesday, with heatwave-like conditions brought on by blazing midday winds.

At 68% humidity, the temperature felt roughly five degrees Celsius warmer than it actually was.

The city’s highest recorded temperature was 37.1 degrees Celsius, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. However, the temperature felt more like 42 degrees Celsius because of the excessive humidity.

Sea winds have been dominating the city for a long time, a Meteorological Department representative told The Express Tribune.

However, the persistent heatwave-like conditions are a result of a combination of feeble winds, rising temperatures, and increased humidity (up to 65%).

The Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department has warned that Thursday will bring stronger-than-normal winds to Karachi.

The highest temperature could reach over 41°C, although the weather is still expected to be quite hot and dry.

Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Tharparkar are among the Sindh districts where light rain is anticipated.

The majority of the province is expected to see hot to extremely hot, dry weather with strong gusts, even though there is a chance of rain.
