The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted on Tuesday that extremely hot and arid conditions are expected to continue in most low-lying regions of the nation during Eidul Azha.
The Met Office stated that rain, along with thunderstorms and dust storms, is expected in the northern regions of the country on June 3 and 4.
The meteorological authority forecasted that humid currents are infiltrating the northeastern regions of the country, and a westerly wave is expected to approach the northern areas on June 3.
The PMD forecasted dust storms, thunderstorms with rain, localized heavy precipitation, and hailstorms in various regions due to this meteorological system.
The locations encompass Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad from June 2 to 5, interspersed with intermittent gaps.
Intense precipitation and hailstorms are anticipated in several regions of the country on June 3 and 4.
The impacted regions include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh.
Comparable weather conditions are anticipated in Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, and Waziristan.
The PMD indicated that a dust storm was anticipated in southern Punjab around the same timeframe, and that rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, was also predicted for Eid in Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, and Mansehra.
The Met Office cautioned that windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning might impair unsecured buildings such as electric poles, trees, automobiles, and solar panels in the northern and central regions of the country.
Farmers are urged to regulate their agricultural practices in accordance with prevailing weather conditions.
The PMD has recommended that the general population, commuters, and tourists exercise caution during the weather event.
