135,000 Pakistanis are pursuing asylum internationally.

During a parliamentary panel meeting, it was disclosed that around 135,000 Pakistanis have applied for political asylum in Western nations during the past two years. The Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis had a meeting on Tuesday. In the session presided over by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, the director general of passports disclosed that 125,000 Pakistanis in Europe and over 10,000 in the United States had sought political asylum.
He notified the committee that certain countries do not incarcerate Pakistani people who enter illegally but promptly deport them to Pakistan.
34,000 Pakistanis were expelled from Iran last year. “The passports of deported individuals have been revoked, while those engaged in criminal activities are receiving severe penalties,” he stated.
The DG observed that more over 10.3 million skilled Pakistani professionals are presently employed overseas.
Officials from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis previously announced that Saudi Arabia has decreased the issuance of visas to Pakistanis and has intensified the eligibility requirements.
