Sources from the Finance Department indicate that Rs. 40 billion were expended on recurrent expenses in the tribal regions, while Rs. 20 billion were designated for developmental projects.
Sources from the Finance Department disclosed that in the current fiscal year, the federal government augmented financing for Kashmir by 50% and for Gilgit-Baltistan by 60%. Conversely, the allocation for the tribal districts was augmented by merely Rs. 6 billion.
Reports indicated that at the time of the 2018 merger, there were 90,000 government employees in the tribal districts. In the last six years, 18,000 people retired and 20,000 were hired.
